Completed Projects

Although it was registered as a legal entity in March 2024, C.R.E.D. began to take shape as early as 2015, when, due to the desire of several Romanians from the Exeter and Devon area to help, a few humanitarian projects were completed.

C.R.E.D. 2023

In 2023, C.R.E.D. provided support to a needy family from IalomiÈ›a County, which had 9 children. This family lived in a house without running water and heating. Generously, C.R.E.D. mobilized material and monetary donations worth approximately £2000, coming from the personal funds of Romanians in Exeter.Through collaborators, C.R.E.D. supported the following initiatives:

  1. Installing a tap in the family's yard: This gesture allowed access to running water, an essential necessity for health and hygiene.

  2. Purchasing and installing a terracotta stove in the house: This provided the family with heat during the cold season.

  3. Distributing new clothing, footwear, backpacks, and school supplies to all children: C.R.E.D. members ensured that each child received necessary items for school and daily life.

  4. Other donations: In addition to those mentioned above, other personal hygiene items, beds, and monetary sums were offered. These were sent to Romania with the help of the Dutescu family and distributed with the support of Mrs. Nicoleta Ioniță.

This initiative had a significant impact on the life of this family, offering them comfort, warmth, and hope.

C.R.E.D. 2022

In May 2022, C.R.E.D. collected, stored, and sent a van full of new and second-hand clothes, toys, food, sweets, personal hygiene items, and many more to a charitable association in Vrancea County. This project was carried out with the help of several Romanians settled in Taunton and Exeter, Devon. This initiative from the community in Taunton and Exeter provided support and hope to victims of domestic violence and orphaned children in the Vrancea area.

C.R.E.D. 2022

In March 2022, immediately after the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Romanian Community in Exeter responded to the call from all residents of Devon, regardless of nationality, to support Ukrainian refugees who were hastily leaving their homes. This community collected, stored, and sent two large vans filled to the brim with clothing, personal hygiene items, and food to Romania and the Republic of Moldova. These were distributed with the help of AVG Courier, Mihaela Reynolds, and the former Honorary Consul of Wales, Mrs. Diana Stroia (to whom we extend our thanks once again for their involvement).

C.R.E.D. 2021

In 2021, aware of the needs in nursing homes and hospitals, C.R.E.D. collected and donated to the St. Sava Palliative Care Hospital in Iași a total of 200 boxes, which amounted to approximately 20,000 adult diapers. This translation captures the essence of C.R.E.D.'s charitable activities in 2022 and 2021, highlighting their efforts to support various communities and individuals in need. If you need any further assistance or additional translations, feel free to ask!

C.R.E.D. 2020

In 2020, C.R.E.D. collected 100 full medium size boxes with donations made by Romanians in Exeter and Devon, containing toys, clothes, and food intended for underprivileged families in Romania.

Of these, 50 boxes were delivered to Marius Simionica, a Romanian settled in Great Britain known for his charitable activities. He distributed them to the elderly and children in Vâlcea, along with other donations collected from other Romanians in the United Kingdom and,

The other 50 boxes were sent to Mrs Nicoleta Ionita and distributed by her to poor families from Ialomita county.

C.R.E.D. 2019

In 2019, the Romanian Community in Exeter supported a Christmas project for a school in a village in Vaslui County. Each child from that school, most of them coming from underprivileged families, sent letters to Santa Claus with their wishes or needs (with a limit of £50). C.R.E.D. responded to 25 of the nearly 100 letters.
